2 km south of Kırkpınar lies an extensive ancient settlement site featuring remains of walls, building materials, and column fragments. Finds include Classical, Hellenistic, and Roman pottery. On the southern side of the Kemer Boğazı, below an ancient (?) bridge, there are numerous inscribed sarcophagi set in rock niches with arcosolia (including one with a lion-shaped lid) and at least one *heroon* (12 x 6.84 m). Rock inscriptions dedicated to Hermes and the Dioscuri are present, as well as structures incorporating *spolia*. 1
